Horse Riding

Riding is the focus of most people's stay.  We take guests for long rides at sunrise and sunset  through the Pampas.   Estancia el Roble is a working cattle farm surrounded by 1200 acres and home to over 1000 cows.  On the rides we help Jaime to herd cattle, move cows from one part of the farm to another and sometimes join the gauchos in the corral to separate cows form their mothers, brand or castrate them depending of the time of year.   During these rides, guests will see many species of birds and different wild animals.

Our collection of horses, El Gordo, Lobuno, Angelita and Mario Tosso are excellent working horses as well as being extremely calm and gentle.  They have always treated our guests very well.  Riding takes place on typical sheepskin saddles, or recados, used by the gauchos.  For comfort and practicality, we encourage our guests to dress in the typical gaucho trousers (bombachas) and espadrilles (alpargatas) which we sell on the farm.

We recommend that our guests have a basic level of riding experience as well as travel insurance.
